Ender's Ending Could Not Have Been Better!
"And always Ender carried with him a dry white cocoon, looking for the world where the hive-queen could awaken and thrive in peace. He looked a long time." (Ender's Game 324)
There could not have been a better end to this book. I was amazed, it ended differently than I would have expected and was great. When I first began to read this, I was a little irritated because I thought that after reading this book, I would then have to read the others in the series (this was a problem because I already have an elephant long list of books I want to read). After finishing this book, I decided that the sequels were not necessary to read. The ending was so perfect that I felt no need to read more books.

I have to agree with you on the fact that the ending for Ender's Game was fantastic. On the other hand, I really do want to read the sequel, Speaker for the Dead. I've got a mile long list of future reading material too, but I can't help but be intrigued as to what Ender will do next. Will he find a place for the queen to hatch? Exactly how old will he and Valentine be by that time? Will there be new technological advances? Will humanity ever see past the perceived Bugger threat enough to try and live in peace with them, or will they find a new alien enemy to fight? Sorry, I happen to be a sci-fi lover and can't wait to read the sequel. It's as you wrote though, the ending gave a sense of closure for the reader while still providing a new path to follow in the possible future.
Kaitlin, I definitely agree with you, the ending was perfect. It was happy and hopeful, not a major cliffhanger, but it left it open for a sequel. I especially like the last sentence, which you picked to quote on, it literally gave me chills it was so good!
