I think your stories are good, Kaitlin. I felt as though my stories would be ongoing because of unidentification within the stories as well. Your second story definitely seems like it will be ongoing since the police are still searching for the suspect.
I'm hoping they do continue the stories since the people were unidentified. However, there has been no updates yet. The second story does seem ongoing, hopefully they catch the suspect soon so I can continue to blog about the story's progress.
The Penn Hills accident is actually one of the stories I chose to follow as well. I chose this story because I'm from Penn Hills and went to high school with these people. I actually know two of the names of the victims. I tried to look this story up on the websites of the local newspapers. The Trib and Post Gazette only have one article a piece and yourpennhills.com (we don't have a local paper because it went out of business about a year ago) has no articles on the topic at all! I heard through speculation that the one victim had to undergo brain surgery but like I said, I'm not sure how accurate this is being that I got my info from a friend's text. I talk about this same thing on my blog.
Wow, if that's true then that's pretty serious. You would think that someone would write a follow-up story about the victims' conditions, especially since they are younger. Normally when something like that happens in a community, there is more information and the community is kept up-to-date.
