Karissa, when you first told me this I honestly thought I was going to cry. It's amazing how quickly one's life can change in an instant...

What happened to that girl is horrific...one moment a great athlete, the next laying in a hospital bed in a coma...to think about it is mind-blowing.

My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. Remember though the Lord won't give us a cross we can't bear, obviously he thinks that Erika can handle this..it will only make her stronger.

I'll be looking for updates on your blog...if you ever find out that the family is in need or something please let me know, maybe there is a way we can help.

hey, this is Erika, the softball player who got hit in the head with a line drive. i was just writing to say thanks for the prayers and support. i'm doing so much better now. i'm even back in school. i'm taking the year off softball however, and i'm not sure if it'll be safe for me to play again. at first i didn't realize how not playing would affect me, but then it hit me (not literally) that i would be giving up a game i loved and had fun playing. yet, all i could think of in the hospital was that God had different plans for me. i just wanted to let you know how well i'm doing. i still have a long road to recovery until i'm completely better, but it's been a miracle so far. thanks for everything!! God truly answers prayers and is simply amazing.
