Back in Action!

I can't tell you all how happy I am to be back on campus. It's really bizarre what a change in environment can do for a person's state of mind.
(EDIT 1/26: and schedule! I've been meaning to get this entry up...!)

After that poor excuse for a football game on Sunday night, my dad and I started packing my belongings into our Chevy Suburban. It was 10pm...

Imagine my frustration at wanting to be moved in before I have to begin anew in "campus life," i.e. going to classes, LIVING on campus (which implies that I'm moved in... ... ...), etc. Yeah, I wasn't exactly thrilled that I was second on the priority list to the Steelers. *grumble mumble grumble*

Sure, any other time I would have just hopped into my car with my things, and given my parents a peck on the cheek as I strutted toward academia (which, compared to home life at times, can be equated to freedom... Having lived at home 9 months after being away at college for a year wasn't exactly what I had in mind, if you know what I mean).

But, my car is really being a pain. It's still not working properly, and my parents have vowed to give me the Jeep Cherokee to replace my ride... but not until they each have a car again. In other words, as long as only 2 out of 3 cars are working, I am the one out of commission (... but still paying car insurance, paying for the car, paying for the gas and parts... *fuming*).

Nonetheless! I am back. And thank God.

Just being able to see the people that I have missed so much is enough to keep me smiling. Conversation is really something basic that I've craved... Not being in an academic setting after living the past thirteen years of my life as a student really pulled a number on me.

I've missed random deep thoughts stemming from casual chitchat.
I hadn't found the same satisfaction in discussing intellectual topics with those that are not quite willing to be incarcerated by mere words, putting their inhibitions and preambles aside.
I've taken to numerous hobbies to fill the time that nearly ate me alive.

Now that I'm busy again, those hobbies are gradually being slowed a bit in order to make room for the classes, workstudying, my internship, my friends (!), and all other orders of college life.

It's great to be back. I can't say it any better than that.

Natasha! I am so glad that you were able to get a look at our beautiful blogs. Eh, computers can be finicky, not to mention annoying when they don't do as you ask, so no worries.

Lori- I can't wait to see what you do for your blog.

There are so many reasons for my joy in my return...
