Seeing stars and eating π

Summer classes, totalling 10 credits, include College Algebra, online Intro. to Ethics, and online Astronomy. All of these through WCCC.

I've never taken an online class before. The set-up seems to be nice, or at least nearly idiot-proof...

I started reading in my math text last night (*cough* one hundred and five dollars lighter *cough*), and the review chapter is almost, I daresay, refreshing.

Okay, now pretend I didn't say that.
You forgot that I am an English major for a second, eh?

Considering that some home PC issues may keep me from looking at the assignments for my two online courses much this week, I wrote down what I'll have to do and when it is due so I'm still on track. I hope.

Dr. Jerz emailed to tell me about a site called badastronomy.com, which is maintained by someone he knows. It's pretty funny, and very interesting. This guy "debunks" astrology and a bunch of other astronomical theories and catch-alls. And there's a blog, too :-)

So, now if anyone can give me any hints in philosophy I'm golden. Some of this stuff is a little "heady" for me. I think it'll help me analyze literature better in the long run, but I need to get in the mindset where I can grasp this stuff first.

Until then I have images of Plato and Pascal dancing in my head around constellations composed of geometric forms eating π.

The group blog "Crooked Timber" has a pretty good collection of academic weblogs, of which a handful are kept by philosophers.

Hey, lady, who do you have teaching your classes? I used to work at WCCC (like, as in until last week!)... good luck with your classes! I've done online classes there and they usually aren't bad. :c)
