Columbine tragedy
I have never heard of this video game and I am glad I have never played it. After watching the video, http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-846592551728203166#, I was very surprised to see someone would actually make a game that was about a terrible tragedy. Although this game can show people who awful it is to do something like this it could also show students different ways to carry out their own plans of doing something as terrible as columbine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Columbine_Massacre_RPG!, This article talks about how the game was listed as one of the possible motiviating factors of the shooter after the 2006 Dawson College shootings. This game only increases the surrounding media about how video game violence is bad for our youth and out culture.

But you have to understand why they made it. It was for pure shock value, and what makes it any different from other first person shooter games?
Plus there is something to be said for the game starting open dialogues. For better or worse, we need to be able to discuss the tragedy to learn from it.
Jeremy I think that this game is very different from other first person shooter games because there is a real tragedy behind it. I'm just worried that children aren't going to be able to see the creator's intentions and might mistake it for something else.
Jeremy, I think the fact that innocents were killed is probably the biggest difference from traditional FPS games.
Guys, take a look at creator's statement . In it, he explains his reasoning behind creating this game. Although I still think it's wrong, I do admire him for wanting to clear up the rumors that have been circling this tragedy for several years now. I'm not trying to change your opinions on the game, because I dislike it just as much as the next person, but from what the creator is saying, he didn't create to make shock-value. He had a real purpose in creating the game.
