Battle was he joy and the end of war made him nostalgic. He must have been a valorous soldier. He was old now and could no longer engage the enemy. Acceptance of this fact was inevitable.

Sure, it would be inevitable for a soldier to switch gears from defender to ordinary man, but does he have to give up that valor he earned in the war? Is it right for him to expect reverence for his duties in everyday life?
