oohh I can remember the days (history of e-mail)

Remember when snail mail was the only way to recieve letters from a distant relative or friend?

Well since the "explosion" of the internet, we have all felt the impact of electronic mail. In 1995, the year of AOL (or so I remember), e-mail was the coolest. E-mailing new found friends on the internet was the thing to do. E-mail obsession led to chatroom obsession and I was hooked on e-mail ever since.

In 1995, e-mail was very simplistic with just the basics such as the send button and an attachment button. It is only later that AOL optimized and came out with options such as status buttons and address books.

E-mail is a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends, family, professors. But now that AOL Instant Messaging is becoming more popular, it is hard to say that e-mail will be anyone's first choice of internet communication.
