Here i am, on the blogosphere again...

My presence on the blogosphere has been limited as of late due to my long work days and inability to access the internet. However, with a small amount of free time, and coincidently computer access, here i blog.

So, we are on our way to beautiful Sandusky, Ohio, on the mid-afternoon/evening of May 13, 2005, when we came across one of the most random experiences that has ever happened to me. It was sort of one of those things that you kinda wish would happen to you, or thought it would be neat if it did, and then when it does, you can't believe it actually did. So by the time the incident happened, we were on the Ohio turnpike. We had just gotten back on to the turnpike after stopping at a rest stop to eat. We should have ended up at the hotel in about an hour. All of the sudden, we stop. I was just sitting in my car, which was still running, but all of the sudden my mom came up to me and told me to put it in park and shut it off, we were going to be awhile. So i did. I proceeded to stand on my hood and take pictures of the traffice, which was lined up behind me and in front of me as far as the eye could see. My mom, brother and i, played cards on the hood of my car, talked to random people, truckers and such, and just stood around and enjoyed not being in the car. I also watched black clouds roll in, which was followed by a bitching thunderstorm, which meant that i had to sit in my car with my windows up. After it stopped raining, we eventually started moving, but we still didn't know what had happened. We had heard someone got shot, and we had also heard someone had a heart attack;the rumors, of course, were flying. When we got off the turnpike, my dad asked the operator whether someone had been shot, and she confirmed it. Later, in the hotel, we watched the 11 o'clock news, and found out someone had been murdered. My mom recently mailed me a letter explaining that they had a person in custody, and that the person being held, and the murdered mans wife were having an affair. The suspect had taken the mans wallet, but turned out the wife had all the cash. My mom called the shots. She told us the night we watched the news that the wife was having an affair. Whats even more ironic, the people suspected, and the doctor all live in pennsylvania, not to far from our very own SHU.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at the pictures if you've got the chance... thanks for sharing your first-hand report of how a big news item has ripples that affect a lot of people who don't get interviewed by reporters.
