Jeremiah Battistone will be remembered forever has being a little young man with a big, big heart. He was in a car accident along the intersection of Route 22 and Route 819 last night at 8:30. It has been offically 24 hours and 15 minutes since his death.
That's two friends...in...LESS than a week...
I appreciate the comfort and the comments I have received from everyone. Thank you. But I am not the one who died--my friends were.
In Miah, I lost not only a friend, but a teamate.
We played football EVERY sunday--rain, shine, snow, or leap year--we played. Sometimes we didn't play on JUST a sunday--for instance, on February 29th, no matter what day it fell on, we played our quadannual "Ice Bowl" (2008's will be Ice Bowl XII).
To lose Jeremiah was a great loss, and all of us Greensburg Lions that play football every sunday, will be in attendance at his wake on Friday, and the service on Sunday. If you see me wearing a bracelet on Wednesday--it's because we bought bracelets to get his initals on it to show our support and friendship.
Thank you all once again on behalf of the Greensburg Lions.
Friend, Teamate, Brother,
Louis D. Gagliardi III

I guess you must think that I am weird or something. I tried to send you an email explaining why I probably not mentioned to you from anyone. I have tried to talk to people and no one will talk to me. You got offline when I tried to message you. Maybe it was your computer, who knows. I would just like to thank everyone that doesn't give a crap about me or how I feel. Everyone blows me off like they don't care or think I'm weird. I'm not trying to come off mean it's just that I am going through a rough time just like everyone else and no one cares to talk to me about my cousin. I can't even talk to that side of the family about anything except for crystal and bernidette. This has been nothing but torcher for me. If you think I'm weird that's fine. Let me know what you think.

Posted by: Kristen at October 18, 2005 07:09 PMHello again,
I don't really know you, but I could tell by your entry when I read it last that you two must of been close. I wanted to know if you could answer some questions I have. I am doing something in his memory, but sadly I didn't get the chance to see him for two years. If you could please help me out it would mean alot to me. I have talked to some people that were his friends and they seemed to have this weird attitude towards me that just made me feel out of place and made me upset. Hopefully you will be the one to come through for me. I do have aim and yahoo. And you can see my email in this entry.
Thank you,
Kristen
Hi, I just found your blog looking for articles on my cousin (Jeremiah). I figured after reading this entry I would like to say that I'm sorry. I grew up with Miah and we were really close. I'm sorry to hear about your other lose too. I lost a total of 5 people this summer, so I know how you feel. It's been the worst summer of my life. I haven't seen Miah in 2 years since other grandfather passed, mainly because of no transportation and the fact that when Miah moved to Greensbugh we kinda lost the closeness we had. I'm just telling you this because I'm affected deeply about this and I want to be there for people too. I didn't want to see this happen, but he is in a better place now. He's watching over us though. Take care, I know it's hard, but we will all make it through this rough time.

Posted by: Dennis G. Jerz at October 14, 2005 12:04 PMI know it did, and I'm sorry it almost happened to you.
I'm not trying to get pity for me, or anything--trust me. I'm trying to show this is what happens to people.
It's unfair. My birthday is Sunday, but my friends will never be able to celebrate their birthdays again.
Posted by: Lou Gagliardi at October 14, 2005 11:40 AMWow. That's shocking, Lou. And it can happen to any one of us, as it almost did to me a few months ago.
