Margaret’s blog on this chapter really helped me realize what the chief motivator for going to graduate school would be. She pointed out that it would be hard to get married and have a family while attending graduate school. This made her realize that going to graduate school for the main reason of getting paid more would not be worth the sacrifices she would have to make. I applied this to my own life and realized that I would really have to be personally invested in learning more about my area of interest if I went to graduate school. I don’t know what my feelings about graduate school will be when I’ve graduated from Seton Hill, but I know that I cannot base my decisions solely on the idea that I will be able to get higher-paying jobs.
