The 10/10/10 World Zombie Fest has come and gone. I am glad to say that I stood in the epicenter of the outbreak, Market Square, Pittsburgh, and had a delicious and strangely-beautiful time. The above picture is of me and the purple Teletubby. It's a shame he got killed for wearing that purse! All ages joined in the festivities, which included zombie Olympics and a zombie ugly pageant. There were bands, general undead tomfoolery, and of course, we all got to enjoy the city. As a participating zombie, I got great satisfaction from the little things, such as watching it all unfold and feeding birds some of my Subway sub. I suspect these are the kinds of experiences nature poems are inspired from. Keep an eye out for “Undead Man in Harmony with Nature”.
In success of reclaiming a world record for most zombies gathered in one location, the zombie fest also raised a mountain of non-brainy food for the truly hungry. Way to go, Pittsburgh zombies!
Here are some delightful pictures I took of the outbreak!
Never thought I'd see a zombie Teletubby... Great pics! I'm not a big fan of zombies but I think it's awesome how much work went into some of the costumes.
I love this matthew! I am a huge zombie fan!! I will be soo ready if there is ever a real outbreak. Did you see the couple that got engaged? They are my friends!! What better place to get engaged!
Hello. Keeping up on your cardio? I didn’t see anyone get engaged. I know there was something on stage about a wedding or mock wedding, but I was to the side and missed it. Did it have anything to do with them? In any case, that sure is a great engagement story.
And Kayla, I never thought I’d see a zombie Teletubby either. Photo opportunity seized!
