A Temple Of The Holy Ghost
O'Connor, '''A Temple of the Holy Ghost'' -- Jerz: American Lit II (EL 267)
Wow!! these two girls Susan and Joanne are something else. They remind me of devil children.
that is why they go to the convent because they are so mouthy and bad. They have a name for everyone and don't really know how to talk to others in a nice manner. But i guess young girls act like this thye think thye are trying to be funny when thye are really acting very inmature.

Missy,
Your right they are mouthy and act very immature. What did you think about their cousin when she told them how rabbits are born. Their younger cousin is smarter than they are. She tricked them into telling her what they were talking about. the you-know-what. I thought that it was funny when the cousin said that "rabbits have babies by spitting them out their mouth" Sounds like she is about 7 or 9 maybe nine. I thought this story was the funniest and most comical of all.

So much for the element of religion being a positive factor. O' Connor definitely seems to be heading in a much different direction with the common religion in this story, which is really confusing to be honest. I'm not sure why O' Connor would go away from the simplicity of religion that had occurred in the first 4 stories. I know that there have been some shifty religious characters, but this story definitely makes me wonder, what is she teaching us this time?
