On a lighter note: things no one cares about
Well after all the hub-hub that my football post created, and me not being one to generate controversy after controversy, let's talk about something light and fluffy. My days here are getting busier and busier here on the hill. I won't bore you with a rundown of each day, but take my word for it... poop is hitting various box fans, and it's getting everywhere!
Firstly, the newest issue of the Setonian is set to come out tomorrow, and in it are my cartoons. I would just like to say that this episode of Hill and Back is probably the best one, so far, and probably going to be the best all year. You can check it out online here if you are too lazy to grab an issue. I was recently informed that I can create as many cartoon episodes as I like, and they will just be put directly online. I think that I'm going to try this, and see how many people actually care about these silly little strips.
Also, improv is back in action this Sunday night on the Hill. Once again, though, I am spending all weekend doing theater improv. Tomorrow night I will be doing crazy improv at the Beaver Valley Bowl in Rochester from 10 til midnight. The Friday Night Improv's that we do every single friday are practically free to the public. We ask for a $2 donation to support the arts in the county, but the punk kids which attend normally don't drop us much of anything. Although somehow, the Friday shows seem to the be best of my weekends. Saturday is our "professional" improv show at Thursday's Restaurant from 8-10. This basically means we are doing improv that doesn't involve the audience, aside from basing everything off of their suggestions. This way, no crazy audience guy can get up and say boobs for ten minutes straight. But Sunday, Sunday is the day that I hope to see some friendly faces...
Sunday we are going for round two of SHIV!- the Seton Hill ImproV session that will be taking place every Sunday until the end of the school year. It began last week as a floor plan for Rose and Rachel. And we are continuing it, minus the floory-plannedness, and hopefully will draw a bigger crowd now that the weather is more friendly. This improv show will be all audience participation. Myself and Josh Knopp and maybe even Rose and Rachel (if they still want in on the sweet sweet improv goodness) will be hosting this jamboree of improv workshop and games. You don't have to be a theater major to come and participate in some good times. 8-10 at St. Mary's.
And so my weeks continue at SHU. Next weekend, and the weekends following this, is my Cellar Dweller show "Kiwani Step Outside". I am hoping, oh so very much, that there will be a good bit of SHU people at the various performances. I have no idea who is going to go to any of them, but regardless, Josh and I will be hanging up fliers this week to promote it. Did I mention that Josh is in it? Yeah, he is! He's one of the new guys we added to the group a couple months ago. So hopefully people will be interested in checking out some very high quality sketch comedy and improv theater. For more info check out the Cellar Dweller website
Did I mention that I'm going to see Ben Kweller and Death Cab for Cutie this Thursday? Well I certainly am!
Wow, this entry sucks. Controvery is so much more interesting
