Spy Kids Hack Blogs!

Last night at around 11:00pm I received an urgent phonecall in my dorm room. Puff had answered the phone, and after hearing what was said on the other end, he turned to me and said, "Go to the blogs!"

Seton Hill's blog community has taken off since it began over a year ago. This very blog has had over 200 entries and over 25,000 visitors. We've seen our share of problems-- usually in the form of spam comments or downed servers-- but never anything of this magnitude. Every blog on the SHU server was replaced with a black screen filled with white-lettered Spanish. An elusive web-terrorist organization called Spy Kids had hacked us something fierce.

Things are back to normal in the blogosphere... but that doesn't mean I've giving up the hunt for these cowardly covert children.

hackd.jpg This is what replaced all of the SHU blogs.

A reliable source has told me that these Spy Kids decided to hit the server that houses the hushed success of the Seton Hill blogs. This means that not only were all of our blogs hit, but the rest of the clients on the server. There has already been plenty of speculation as to why we were hacked by these Brazillian cyber-terrorists. The moment I posted this blog entry, even before I had finished writing it, I was already getting comments (as you can read below) regarding Affirmative Action. And while, yes, this too was my first thought as soon as I saw I was "owned," I am unsure this is the complete reason.

I will agree with you. It makes logical sense that someone who supports such a racist and ludicrous idea as Affirmative Action would be the first to put vulgar Portuguese all over my personal web page. But after some light investigation (most of which will be different when I publish my article on the subject in this month's issue of the Setonian)

spy_kids_3-d_150.jpg These are the little shits that hacked the SHU blog. International cyber-terrorists and annoying pre-teens.

I found this picture of the wanted terrorists on the FBI's Cyber-Terror Alert web page; a page that was, ironically enough, recently hacked by the rock band Spy Mob not one week ago. The young "pip squeak" in the picture is Tommy Ascii, obviously a complete B.A. Next to him is his molestatiously quaint sister, Selina Pron. These two, combined with a gaggle of talent-specific goons, make up the Brazillian digital-rapists known as the Spy Kids.

The Spy Kids have been participating in all sorts of illegal web activity. Their list of felonies includes bidding on eBay auctions during the last 60 seconds, constantly squashing the bug to win an iPod, and using ridiculous internet jargon to express victory over others.

Where the Spy Kids are currently is unknown, but for now they have been thwarted. The department of New Media Journalism, I hear, has hired a bounty hunter named Hawk to hunt down and capture these nefarious little punks. For now we will wait, go about our lives as normal, until Hawk busts through the door and throws their severed heads onto the coffee table.

"Hawk ownz you!" he'll say. Way to be, Hawk... way to be.

If you're seriously interested in finding them, they're probably working out of Brazil, I imagine Rio de Janeiro (that's the city mentioned as an example for their argument.) The language is Portuguese, not Spanish. Although my Portuguese isn't good, I do know enough to say that they're arguing about some racial discrimination minority laws (lei de cotas?) between white people and black people for getting into universities and they want equality for all races...I talked with Dr. Jerz earlier this afternoon and he said that Brazil has the most lax laws concerning hacking.

Glad things are working again.

You see, this is EXACTLY why I'm against affirmative action.

My guess would be that these brazillian 'Spy Kids' are an elite group of soccer players (which narrows the choices down from All Brazillians to All Brazillians who aren't paralyzed) with obvious internet hacking skills and maybe like... 700 karma on GameFAQs.

So in other words, they are the perfect humans- NO! superhumans. And no one, not even robocop, NOT EVEN judge dread can stop them. Abandon hope, ye who don't let latinos with 2.8 GPA's get in to SHU before caucasians with 3.7 GPA's.

(Woah, Dan! =-o)

Yep, the hack was rather inconvenient... But we got a good kick out of it making fun of the "Spy Kidz" or whoever they are, didn't we?

And onto what Emily said, yeah I don't know Portuguese either, but looking at the word roots it's easy to see that they're against some racial conflict. (But how is hacking our private university's blog realm going to help their cause?--we're just ticked at them...)

And the usual question: Why can't people find anything better to do with their time??

Posted by: Karissa at February 2, 2005 5:59 PM

They really don't have anything better to do with their time down their in Brazil. When they aren't playing soccer or working in the fields they just have to fill up their time with something. I'm betting they figured if they could tick off some Americans they would get a good laugh out of it!

So........
Anyone who is for Affirmative Action is a racist in your book?
I everyone who voted for California Prop 187 a racist?
Are all the voters in Arizona who voted for the new /"tough" law affecting illegal aliens racists?
