Greanleaf

Jerz: Am Lit II (EL 267): O'Connor, ''Greanleaf''

Mrs. May was afraid because black people were getting power. She didn't like Mrs. Greanleaf because she was happier than her. She also didn't like Mr. Greanleaf's sons because they got married and the government supplied some money for them. She liked seeing unhappy people. That's why she was smiling when Mr. Greanleaf went to shoot the bull. Mrs. May was unhappy about her life. Her husband only left the land and her sons didn't grew up what she expected. She was a miserable woman.

Isn't it funny though that the one thing she thought would make her happy which was forcing Grrenleaf to distroy his sons bull was the thing that took her life in the end, and stopped all her unhappiness. She thought she was finally goig to make this man as unhappy as her yet it once again backfired on her.

Karma. She is one of those "christian" people who thinks their hidden thoughs, no matter how bad, are justified because they do good things on the outside.
