No Hometown Advantage for Bush

November 02, 2004

Oh the irony is killing me!

Here's the best election result I've stumbled across thus far:

Won by Kerry
Percent Reported: 100
BUSH - 15,144 votes (8.9%)
KERRY - 153,540 votes (89.9%)

That's his HOMETOWN, man! I think the Redskins were right! Isn't the president supposed to have a hometown advantage or something?

Damn you, Ohio, get those votes counted! Kerry's got Pennsylvania, woo! California, baby, you better not let me down! Okay, okay, I have got to do homework now.... Argh!

Cali and Washington picked Kerry and it looks like Oregon is following suit.

Actually, that's not true. Washington DC is traditionally a democratic vote. It's almost never going to a republican. This is caused by their polling area. They only poll within the city limits, which is not only urban but also almost totally African American (which has always traditionally gone for the liberal). So really, his hometown advantage can be found in Texas, which is far more important than Washington.
