U.K. Phone Booth

For my class Writing for the Internet, I am designing a travel-themed project entitled “Moira Does Europe.” I have high hopes of turning this project into something that I continue to expand upon and create after
this semester is over. For the graded portion of this project, I am designing a hypertext fiction story called:
This Ain’t No American Phone Booth.
The project is turning out to be way more complicated than I had initially suspected! I’m having a lot of fun with the project but I find myself having to limit my options because eventually the story has to end!
The story starts with the player character Jack standing in front of a phone booth in Birmingham Square in England. The player is presented with four options and must select one in order to continue forward with the story.
I’m finding that my story has three main plotlines:
Dinner at Moira’s Mum’s House
- After meeting a woman in Birmingham Square, the player character admits his true identity and decides to have a lovely traditional British dinner with his dear friend’s mother. The problem? He must choose wisely because those Brits take their dinner choices very seriously.
Meeting with the Queen of England
- The Queen of England is the leader of the top secret U.K. Superheroes’ Club as well as the commander of the amazing kung fu killer squirrels of Birmingham Square. The Queen of England can help you if you chose wisely but take heart: the Queen is not afraid to kill of silly Americans at but a whim.
Johnny Q’s Record Shop
- Johnny Q, it turns out, is the arch-nemesis of Moira, and also very particular about his musical preferences. The sexy woman working at the register is very flirtacious indeed but watch what you say to her or she might call for Johnny Q. When Johnny gets mad, the world quivers in fear.
The road is dangerous for our dear Jack, danger awaits at every turn, strange suprises greet Jack at the most inopportune times, and Jack is kind of a cranky bugger. Will Jack ever find Moira? Will Jack make the right decisions regarding what kind of British food he is willing to ingest into his system? Is the Queen of England really a man in drag? The answers to all of these questions and more await as you play:

Awesome hypertext work. It takes so many unexpected turns and keeps you laughing to the end! (I still think who you want to call is Ghost Busters, but I'll forgive you for that!)

Valerie - I am glad that you like the strangeness! Just you wait, girlie, it's going to get weirder around here soon! ;) Thanks for the compliments! I totally dig your pigeon project.. I can't wait to see it when you are done. If you want someone to user-test it, I'm all about it! :c)
