I've decided to become, among other things, a comic book artist. I learned recently from a cool dude named Dan the amazing things that could be created in Paint. I expanded that lesson into Photoshop and went a little nuts. Drawing is an EXCELLENT way to procrastinate!

Seriously though, I've spend days putting together a webpage at and it would rock my world if you would check it out! You'll find the original U.K. Phone Booth project from Writing for the Internet in Fall 2004, updated and better than ever. You'll also have a chance to see my silly attempts at being an artist, a new blog about being a writer, and much more with loads on the way.

Moira I always admire you for trying new things. The comics are so good. I aspire to have this much motivation as a writer.

Thanks, Leslie! I'm having a lot of fun with the project. I'm trying to convince my sister to let me post an essay she wrote about socks - it's awesome! ;c) How's your summer??

Great work, as I've come to expect from you, Moira.

If you get a moment, I hope you'll take a moment to look at Inform 7, a radical upgrade to the interactive fiction programming tool I taught you in "Writing for the Internet."

Here's an overview, giving some sense of how much more "writerly" the new design environment is.

Well the summer has been crazy as usual with me. I am working at a dog kennel part time again, doing a little writing for Delmarva Youth Magazine a local publication and submitting "Santa's Surprise" to a few markets. So far 25 submissions and 4 replies, all rejections because they no longer accept submissions. lol. Oh well I guess at least Arnzen will be happy I tried.

Leslie, I'm glad you're taking the rejections well -- that's part of being a writer. It's good that you're getting some writing experience during the summer break.

Leslie - 25 submissions is DAMN impressive. I've sent my story out to a couple places, but I haven't heard anything at all. Good luck with getting published!!

Dr. J - Thanks for the link. I'll definitely check that out soon.

I feel like a slacker.

Impressive work, Moira! You are a whirling dervish of creativity lately, and it's great to see you getting your work out there. Keep at it -- persistence pays! You too, Leslie...yes I >AM< happy that you're trying! Can't succeed if you never try.
