act 2 The Dollhouse

Ibsen, A Doll House (Act 2) -- Drama as Literature (EL 250)

"Something splendid is going to happen."
I cannot believe it is coming to what i think is suicide for Nora. I do think that that is what she is planning. Also, the expression of love from Dr. Rank. Shouldn't she use that maybe to her advantage if she could? This play is holding my attention but I am still eager to see if Nora will be able to hack it or not when the time comes. Will it be at this masquerade ball where the "shit hits the fan"

Yeah, I was expecting her to hit Dr. Rank up for the cash too. It seemed like something she might do and I was surprised when she didn't.

Dr. Rank creeped me out in Act 1 with all his scary-preacher talk of a sinful household poisoning children. I was pleased to find out that he was just a generally morbid and sarcastic guy on the verge of death.
