AP Guide to Newswriting
AP Guide to News Writing (Ch 11) -- News Writing (EL 227)
Chapter 11 opened my eyes to what exactly a feature story is. A feature is a more free flowing news story. It does not follow the same pattern as a traditional news story. It grabs the readers attenton. An example of a feature shows the use of many adjectives to grab attention.
Feature stories start from ideas usually, something that isn't being reported that is a problem. they contain interviews and research that is an eye opener.
