Coverage of a News Story

This is for my Journalism class :o And sorry Professor Jerz but I have to do this over the span of the weekend instead of 48 hours for I do not have the net at home on my laptop. :o

Okay so here's the scoop, apparently JLo is being sued for copyright infringements on her video "I'm Glad" by the real woman who inspired the 1983 film Flashdance. The plaintiff, Maureen Marder was actually the real life inspiration to the film.

Flashdance which was a box office hit only earned Marder 2,300 dollars therefore leaving her bitter and uncomplient for a sequel. As JLo made her video, no one asked Marder for her permission to make a homage of scene from the film nor has she seen profit from the music video's success.

"Bitter" is completely inaccurate--and unnecessarily harsh. "Bamboozled by bullshit and consequently uncooperative" might be more appropriate.

Since there will now be no trial, if readers are interested in learning about the facts in my case, they will be able to read all about my 'adventures in filmland'--among other interesting experiences, in my upcoming autobiographical account of my own story.

And, just for the record, Paramount has only a NON-EXCLUSIVE right to my story for that one film only. I retained the rights to my own story then, and I still do retain them!
