From playing the interactive fiction games that I have been doing over the past few days I can honestly say it is bringing back memories that I have as child. At first when I began undertaking the exercises that Dr Jerz set I could not quite get the grasp of what the purpose of these games were, they seemed difficult to understand. Little did I know that it was the simplest of commands that alow you to progress further in the game. At times while playing these games I could find myself gettting extremely frustrated by the simpliest of things. At times I would feel that I was going round in complete circles and getting absolutely nowhere. To be honest these types of games definetely take a lot of careful thought and consideration even for someone of my age. I read a few website reviews for these types of games and realised people as young as ten were the ones who were able to complete the games and offer hints and tips over the internet - this completely astounded me!!!
These types of games obviously require a great of thought and planning from the programmers point of view. Coming from a programming background myself I have full admiration and respect for the people who devloped these. As a player it develops your thinking skills, you have to be aware of every possible scenario throughout the game. So far of all the games I have played, the one I think is the most developed would be that of photopia.z5, virtually every time you do something it counteracts something else. Firstly you begin just as a normal person driving down the road and the next thing you are doing all these intagallectic missions in space etc. It is a bit of a crazy plot all in all but I had fun switching from different scenarios. I have to admit though, without the use of the internet for hints on how to complete the tasks set I probably would not have been able to get past the first mission. In order to play these types of games you have to think like the programmer, try and get in his head and to be honest it is not always as easy as you first think.
I had a lot of fun participating in these interactive fiction games and would definetely recommend them to anyone who is bored and wants to use some brain power. To summarise what I have just said, I think that you should just download some of these games and try them out for yourself.

From this Panel I have gained a lot of useful information which I can use when undertaking weblogging in the future. From the discussions I was able to understand in my head what exactly went on when creating a blog. There was a lot of interesting information to be gained and learned from this presentation but I was particularly interested to learn of Neha's opinions within her presentation. It really opened my eyes in the blogging world and definetely gave me a better grasp of what going on within blogging.
It is amazing the effect blogging can have within a community. Simply by expressing your opinions you can create an online debate that can go on for as long as you want. Blogging allows you to express your opinions in whatever form you, you may be critised for it but all that matters is getting across your point the way you want it be made.
Blogging is a great benefit and lets you meet knew people online, it can be anything you want it to be ie an online journal etc. I have found a few good blogging websites at the following addresses:-

Hi there my name is Simon Andrews. I am 22 yrs and from Northern Ireland attending Setonhill University on a one year transfer program.
After years of being a ghost town Chesterton is now becoming a major tourist attraction once again. This company town was built by the Chesterton Logging Company in 1891. During World 1 the population spurmed from 3000 to 4000 because of the demand for airplanes. In the late 1920's a zinc mine is opened at Mount Freeman and it caused the Chesterton sawmill to be closed. Once the Great Depression set in hundreds of workers lost their jobs and the population dropped to 300. With the opening of the regional park tourism grew again. It created many opportunities for recreation such as skiing hiking and camping. With a population of 1200 the town is now a major eco tourism destination.
Just a quick note to introduce myself to the blogging community. I am a 22 year old transfer student from Northern Ireland here for one year only. I am currently practising with the soccer team on campus and am majoring in business.
