Ethereal. Whispers singing the high
percussion of air being sliced betwixt two steel rings at break neck speeds.
The shadowy vestiges of metal hula-hoops spinning- running Earth’s diameter.
Beneath. Above. Beside. This basin of all and nothing.
Rather than an entire paragraph of "I hate these shoes. They hurt. Why did I wear them?" But that's just me! So, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about NaNoWriMo and/ or free writing. If you want to share some secrets of the trade that seem to work for you that'd be pretty awesome too!
P.S. - Incase you're wondering, that little piece describes the sound I was hearing the other day when I was standing at the top of the North face of the mountain at Seven Springs. It was probably just the distant high way but anything sounds amazing when you're on the top of the world.
Nothing I write during NaNoWriMo will sound that good! However, I'm hoping to get a little better than a tirade on shoes. I like free writing but I don't like to go back and look at it. Once in awhile something really cool slips out when I'm pushing myself to just write. I understand the dislike of free writing though!
Psh you never know, the sleep deprivation you are bound to endure may just induce some writing-worthy hallucinations :-P. I've been thinking of writing a collection of essays all on the same theme, like "Fado," by Andrzej Stasiuk ( I'm reading it for European Literature). It's essays all about his travel through Europe. Mine won't nearly be as cool, partly because I don't even have a license, and also because I just don't have such a freaking awesome name that meer mortals such as myself can't even pronounce. But yea, I prefer forcing myself to write, stream of consciousness just doesn't cut it.
