Submission Guidelines

Check the home page for the deadline and theme.

We accept poetry, short fiction, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, graphic novels, as well as 2D and 3D art, photography, or graphic design. No AI art or lit submissions will be accepted. 


NO identification of any form should appear on your entry.

The staff judges anonymously, so please refrain from including your name on submissions.

Submissions must be previously unpublished. This includes Internet publications such as Facebook or personal websites and blogs.


Please send multiple submissions as separate entries.

You may submit no more than 3 poems, limited to two pages per poem.

Repeat title in upper right corner of second page.

Please send the file as .rft, doc or .docx attachment.


Flash Fiction and Creative Nonfiction:

You may submit 2 stories, limited to a maximum of 1500 words per piece. (Please note that pieces under 1000 words have a better chance of publication.)

Submissions must be typed and double-spaced.

Have the title in the upper right corner of each page with page numbers.

Please send the file as .rft, doc or .docx attachment.



You may submit up to 4 pieces of art (2D and 3D art, photography, or graphic design).

All images MUST be at least 300 dpi or they will not be accepted.
Submitted pieces must be scanned or properly photographed.
Please send as a .tiff, .jpeg or .pdf attachment.

Please include the medium of the piece in the email submission.

Artwork will be scaled to size.


Graphic Novels:

Limited to 5 pages, but shorter pieces have a better chance of publication.

Have the title in upper right corner of each page.

Subject: The subject headline of the email should say “Eye Contact Submission” followed by the category of your work (e.g.: “Eye Contact Submission: Poetry”).

File: The file of the submission should be named what the title of the piece is. We do not accept untitled files.

Body: The body of the email should contain the following information in this order:

Title of Work*
Full Name (no pseudonyms)
Current Address
Phone Number
One Sentence biographical statement

              *if submitting art please also include the medium(s) used


We have the right to reject any submissions that do not follow the above guidelines.
